Healthcare in India poised for a great charge as far as the expectations, requirements and demands are concerned. Last century did not have great demands as expected level of quality care meant great deal of attention to the patient. With the turn of the century and developments in technology the demands have risen to a great extent and fulfilling the aspirations of the patient has become impossible to achieve single handed. Individual practice could flourish to a great deal depending upon individual and popularity in the past.
Present century has seen great technological changes in the practice pattern that those who cannot practice evidence-based medicine will have to engage themselves in discussing historical past of medical profession.
Going ahead with present knowledge and future addition to it means adapting to technologies in the medical science and delivering health care to the society as per standard norms of the science being practiced elsewhere.
The type of healthcare delivery expected by the society at large demands healthcare professional to adapt to the institutional practice and serve the people.
Understanding the demands of the society at large Parkar Hospital & Research Institute has initiated to cater to the needs of the society and initiate healthcare delivery under one roof.
Implementing the idea is a huge task.. Getting infrastructure, technology and above all the manpower. In spite of all the limitations the institute has progressed a great deal in healthcare delivery in the various fields in secondary care and tertiary care level of services.
A dependable intensive care unit caters the needs of medical, surgical and other emergencies is indeed an achievement of the teamwork of doctors, nurses and technicians and rest of the staff who are all well trained in the science and art of critical care.
Dialysis centre of the hospital has become a ray of hope for hundreds of renal failure patients on dialysis in the vicinity. Addition of Cath lab with facility for angiography and angioplasty is yet another milestone advised by the institute.
Reaching the ultimate goal in healthcare cannot be achieved in one’s lifetime beginning from zero. However, our aim is to reach our final goal where we become the dependable healthcare provider to the society keeping in mind the affordability of a common man.
Single handed efforts on healthcare by the government agencies cannot be sufficient for taking care of all health related problems and government also has initiated private partnership programmes like RashtriyaSwasthyaBima Yojana (RSBY) and Maharashtra Police Kutumb Arogya Yojana (MPKAY) supporting these government programmes and making whole hearted efforts to succeed these programmes will certainly be a step forward in working for common man of the country who cannot afford private hospitals. I look up to this as an opportunity provided by the government for working for poor.
We have marched on this journey for good 33 years, the march will continue as long as people’s love and patronage continue to push us for more and more demand on healthcare front, with regards for quality and human touch.
